2021 Envinate "Migan Chingao" Valle de la Orotava Tinto
ENVINATE: THE INDIANA JONES OF SPANISH WINEEnvÃnate is a project from four enology graduates that focuses on exploring distinctive parcels mainly in the Atlantic-inflected regions of Ribeira Sacra and the Canary Islands. The intent is to explore and purely express old vine parcels of ancient, indigenous varietals with little to no intervention. These are some of Spains most exciting and honest wines. This team of four has scouted the rocky coastline of Tenerife in the Canary Islands and the precipitous, impossibly steep terraces of Ribeira Sacra for the most clandestine, old vine vineyards on the planet to bring these flavors into your glass. Hand-picked, foot-trodden, wild yeast and whole cluster fermented for wild, savage flavors of spice and sun-expressed coastal and mountainous herbs and flowers. The project has tremendous sway in the natural wine community. The natural character is modest though, and rarely overpowers.
