The Colin family is one of the premier family names in Burgundy. Pierre Yves Colin Morey is likely the most famous of them all, but there are many other members of the extended family tree that produce tremendous wines that are highly collectible and bring just as much joy. The Bruno Colin estate is approaching twenty years, after acquiring now fewer than twelve different premier cru plots from his father Michel Colin in the early 2000s. His brother Philippe Colin took the other half of the estate. The Bruno Colin wines are always ample and amicable when young, and I celebrate them for being built on more of a foundation of pure enjoyability than the more studious wines of some of his peers. They possess a kiss of the reduction that many of us have come to adore, but it always takes a back seat to fruit and aromatics.
