Brovia: Allocated Piedmont Traditionalist Powerhouse This special Piedmont estate is one of the top traditionalist producers of Piedmont. The production is tiny, and each bottling usually sees less than 2500 bottles produced, with less than half arriving to US shores. The estate is on its 4th generation and has been in production for over 100 years, making it one of Barolo€™s oldest estates. If you don€™t know this estate, it is for good reason, it is gobbled up by collectors and elite restaurant programs immediately upon release each year. The Garblet Sue is the softer, more approachable and aromatic twin of the brooding and power of the €œKing of Kings€ Villero cru. You may be tempted to go after the Villero, but it often takes a decade to approach a drinking window. The Rocche di Castiglione is likely the most underrated site in all of Barolo, and displays a seductive, supple sensuality in most vintages.
