Domaine Pichot is one of the oldest wine making families in Vouvray, having been tending to vines since 1739. Through the generations, the family acquired three notable vineyards in Vouvray, Coteau de la Biche, Le Pue de la Moriette, and Marigny, and the Domaine Pichot was founded to consolidate those vineyards under one wine making effort. The vineyard on offer today, Le Pue de la Moriette, translates to "Well of the Little Moor," which is a nod to its significant historical heritage . This wine will give you everything you want in classic Vouvray; there€™s a kiss of sweetness balanced with crisp, high acid, along with notes of florals, quince and grapefruit. For a classic example of Vouvray with this much age, this wine is an incredible steal.
