Let me tell you a story about these pieces.  They can be used as a bedcover/throw/blanket etc.  Its soothing its pleasing.   its a story of revival.  Many decades ago in the Northern Mountainous region of India, 60 families of Sahaspur village were traditionally involved in handloom as their main source of livelihood. With the passage of time, handloom products were replaced by machine made products. Slowly, people started leaving this business and started alternative livelihoods. To try revive the handloom culture using natural fibres, dyes and create a sustainable model for the community, the Rural Livelihood Mission implemented a program in collaboration/intervention with the United  Nations (UNDP).  The program worked with 37 artisans to help develop a range of products that were inspired by the mountains using natural dyes like turmeric, LAC (derived from the secretion of insects yielding shades of red ) , leaves and flowers, (thus the earth tones ) .
