Fascinated by the Aztec calendar for years, I'm now translating this symbolism into my art! I am particularly drawn to the points along the outside of the sunstone (Aztec calendar) said to represent the rays of the sun god, and the four directions. It also closely corresponds with the antennas of the galactic butterfly in the Mayan Hunab Ku symbol that I’m so fond of.
