GSI Compact Scraper
Camping and cooking = KP duty in suboptimal conditions. If you have a stainless or Ti pot, you can scrub it out with sand, rocks, etc. But if you have an aluminum pot, anodized or not, you want a GSI scraper. It’s effective enough that I use one at home, and by home I mean the yurt, where my dish water comes from a creek and is always at ambient yurt temp, ie anywhere from 45 to 95 degrees. Most of what GSI makes is suspect, but this little scraper has a smart shape and holds up decently. The basic shape lets you get into the bendy parts of a pot or pan, and there’s a bit of give to one side of the scraper, which conforms to the nooks and crannies of whatever you are trying to clean. Small, like a beefy credit card. Won’t hurt anodized pans. Use less soap, clean faster than the scrape the pot with rocks method.
