Hope at Punaluʻu Beach 10
12” x 12” The title Hope at Punaluʻu Beach was inspired by these little shimmers in the black sand. These paintings are a reminder that even in the darkest times, there’s always a glimmer of hope. Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Big Island, and I absolutely fell in love with it—especially the black sand beach at Punaluʻu. The sand there isn’t just black; it has beautiful, colorful hues that shimmer in the sunlight. Capturing this unique effect with resin and different pigments in each layer was such a joy. Each flower is uniquely detailed with gold leaf and acrylic paint. The colorful strokes of paint give a different essence to each flower. Resin and acrylic on wood frame.
