Stirling Engine Miniature Model Steam Power Generation Technology Toy

    Stirling engines are one of the simplest engines to construct and understand, andthere are still a lot of thermodynamic concepts that come up and are easy to understand in context.  The engine is not an internal combustion engine, so it relies on an external heat source.  The kit comes with a small alcohol lamp you may use to power the engine with alcohol from the first-aid kit.  You may also try placing the engine over other heat sources around the house ir in the outdoors to create (for example) a solar powered stirling engine with a magnifying glass and convex mirror (not included). You can build either a single cylinder engine, or a double cylinder engine. Before you build the experiment, come up with some hypothesis and test them to make it more fun.  Here are some questions to explore - make your guesses, today!  Sample questions to hypothesize about for the project: When you run the 2 cylinder motor, does it run at twice the speed, turn twice the generators, or have twice the torque?  How does that relate when two people pull the same rope or when two batteries are attached to the same wire? How does the size of the cylinder relate to the power of the motor? Do you think the size of the cylinder affects the heat needed to run the motor - if so, how? Instructions: -The packaging will contain an alcohol lamp. -Please go to the pharmacy to buy 95% pure alcohol, anhydrous industrial alcohol is better. Fill the spirit lamp to less than two-thirds full. -For the alcohol lamp, under the premise of ensuring safety, light the alcohol lamp about 2 minutes after the flywheel is started, until the flywheel runs automatically, do not touch it with your hands during the whole heating process. -The LED light can be plugged directly into the output of the generator.
