Ecotone Specialty Artisan Soap This soap was a labor of love that almost went completely sideways, but rather, it took a turn that ended up for the better. This smells like fresh coastal air - not quite at the beach but when you are heading through the woods and know that the treeline is near and that the coast is literally so close you can smell it. At least that is my experience on beach trip days while living in the PNW all my life. Infusing the olive oil with green algae had more influence on the fragrance than expected by adding to my very green, sweet, woodsy scent a very briney scent. Unexpected. Unintended. Happy accident. Wholly welcome. The uncharacteristically rustic top is due to the soap getting scorching hot as it saponifies (a very exothermic reaction) - this can happen for a dozen reasons.
