12 x 18 Semi-gloss 100# paper The Battle of Blair Mountain was the largest labor uprising in US History, with some 10,000 armed coal miners engaging in battle with private security forces and law enforcement. The arrival of the National Guard caused the miners to surrender and while in the short term the battle was a defeat for the labor movement, it revealed the horrid working conditions imposed upon workers and was an inspiring event for the rising tide of labor activism that would lead to major reforms.  On this, the 100th anniversary, we remember their courage and the sacrifice of the 100 or more killed.
