The Avid BB7 MTB Cable Disc Brake is a popular choice among mountain bikers due to its smooth ball bearing operation and easy installation and maintenance. It features 74mm mounting bolt spacing and is designed for use with long cable-pull levers. However, it is not compatible with Centerlock or HSX rotors due to the shape of the brake pad installation tabs. The brake pad retraction and spring tension are adjustable, and it comes with steel-backed sintered pads.
