The Aérospatiale Alouette II is a French light helicopter that was first manufactured by Sud Aviation and later by Aérospatiale. It is notable for being the first production helicopter to use a gas turbine engine instead of a piston engine. The prototype, designated SE 3130, first flew on March 12, 1955.
