
ANOTHER MISSED CONNECTION
Daniel Senser’s poetic opus touches on themes of erotic love, fantasy, drunkenness and madness, among others. His work stands out for its mystical and spiritual elements, as well as its use of rhyme and musical language. Our eyes met. All the colors of the world bled together as in a child's painting, or rather, God's masterpiece cheerfully smeared by the child Eros. (We can't scold him because we can't catch him.) Still decipherable in the mess—two dark eyes filled with fire and music. The faun plays his fife in those eyes and I, the poet, open my mouth to sing. Oh, mirror of my soul! The hot breath of fate has fogged you over and before I can cast the lure of my song into that silver pond filled with your longing, you are gone! and my reflection is all that re
