A fine American portrait miniature depicting a beautiful woman with long curls holding a small book to her chest. It is painted in soft pastels and appears that she is posed in a natural atmosphere, possibly sky behind her. It is very finely painted, and she is quite lovely. The condition is excellent, and she dates c. 1840.
