GENSE Focus de Luxe Stainless Steel Cutlery Collection by Folke Arström

In 1955 Folke Arström designed the flatware collection Focus de Luxe for GENSE. Among all the accolades it received, the design was hailed by The New York Times as "one of the 100 best designed products of modern times." Focus de Luxe became a mid-century success partly due to its functional design and simple but stylish beauty. However, the durability of the materials used also played a part. This stainless-steel cutlery defied scratches and withstood every household acid and cleaner. Today’s Focus de Luxe collection exhibits that very same durability. The stainless-steel material is scratch-resistant and virtually indestructible, while the black handles, which were originally made from nylon, are now made from hard POM plastic (acetal resin). Folke Arström designed Focus de Luxe for Gense in 1955. Today, Focus de Luxe is a stylish retro classic with a timeless and functional design. The interesting feature of this cutlery is the knife’s short blade and the fact that the fork, knife
