The Dodo Bird became extinct in the mid-to-late 17th century.  It was a flightless bird known to inhabit the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean.  A larger relative of pigeons and doves, Dodos stood about a meter tall and weighed about 45 lbs.  While you can't find the real thing anymore, this recreation from Play Visions makes an excellent playmate and companion.  He has a chocolate coat with lighter brown patches on his stomach, wings, and face.  He makes a great playtime buddy!
