One of our set of six Imperial Gaiwans from Imperial Tea Court, this Autumn Blossom Gaiwan, decorated with yellow chrysanthemum flowers, is one of Roy's favorites. The Chinese translation for chrysanthemum, Chu Hua, literally means "October Flower" and is considered one of the noble plants along with orchid, bamboo and plum. But the beautiful yellow flower is also the designation of Chinese royalty and, as it floats on the pure white background of fine bone china, it honors both your guests and the tea you serve. Perfectly nested into the base with a precisely fitted lid, this is an elegant but highly functional vessel. An excellent example of the Chinese art and history of tea.  Size:  5 oz.Three-piece set: base, bowl and lid
