
Frida Kahlo Digital Art Lesson - Interactive Google Slides
This interactive Frida Kahlo art project was created in Google Slides and is meant for the students to complete within Google or other digital applications. Students watch a video read a short biography, watch a video about the artist and then a full demonstration video before beginning their artwork. Students create their own digital art in the style of Frida Kahlo's self-portraits and fill out a reflection sheet and KWL chart on the artist. This is a digital resource. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU AND YOUR STUDENTS HAVE ACCESS TO THE GOOGLE DRIVE BEFORE PURCHASING! There is no physical download, but rather a link to the resource on the google drive. FRIDA KAHLO DIGITAL ART PROJECT 14 SLIDES: 3-minute video on Frida Kahlo Full 20 minute narrated video that takes students through the process of creating their own Frida Kahlo portrait. Progressive slides take students through adding backgrounds, skin tone portrait choice, leaves, shirt, creatures, flowers, earrings and necklaces. Students fill the background with their choice of colors. (OPTIONAL) Students use what they learned to answer reflection questions on a google slide: What life experiences most influenced Frida Kahlo's artwork? (family, her accident, personal relationships, other) Identify the ways Frida demonstrated her individuality through her clothing and artistic style.
