 This stunning mosaic standing crucifix presents early iconography of Christ carrying His Cross and the Crucifixion, the iconic image of Christ the Teacher, and the face of the Risen Christ from the San Damiano Cross. The Risen Christ looks directly at us with a compassionate gaze, regal, triumphant and strong.  St. Francis of Assisi prayed under the gaze of the Risen Christ at San Damiano, "All-highest, glorious God, cast your light into the darkness of my heart. Give me right faith, firm hope, perfect charity and profound humility, with wisdom and perception O Lord so that I may do what is truly your holy will, Amen."  The cross measures 12" by 8" by 2" to 3" deep and is freestanding. The plaster cross is embellished on all sides with decoupaged images, shades of gold , gray, black and white beads and mixed media treasures in golden tones.
