Sound Design & Synthesis For Producers [NYC]

Learn to create your signature sound by understanding the principles of synthesis and be able to make any sound from scratch.  Your signature sound is what defines you as an artist, so having the tools to make your sound unique is key. In this intermediate to advanced level course you’ll learn the principles of synthesis and how any sound can be designed starting from a basic waveform. You’ll cover all the main synthesis types from subtractive, wavetable, and FM to sample-based synthesis and physical modeling, creating sounds that are musical and practical and can be applied directly to your productions. You’ll leave with a thorough understanding of how synthesizers work and how to make your sounds unique and recognizable. Requirements: This is an intermediate to advanced level course. We recommend good proficiency with music production and having produced at least one track of your own.
