THE NERVE AGENTS were born from the late-’90s, Bay Area Hardcore scene with vocalist Eric Ozenne, formerly of local stalwarts UNIT PRIDE and REDEMPTION 87, joining with Tim Presley and Andy Granelli of MODEL AMERICAN. What resulted was a throwback sound to an era of hardcore punk not unlike early-YOUTH OF TODAY, CIRCLE JERKS, 7 SECONDS, and AGNOSTIC FRONT, that still managed to showcasethe members’ personalities and experiences, with art and lyrics reflecting on Ozenne’stime in the military with vivid references to the horrors of chemical weapons. With this eight-song EP as the catalyst,THE NERVE AGENTSsteep trajectory in the West Coast hardcore and punk underground found them playing smaller, more formative shows and growing alongside bands like TIGER ARMY and THE DISTILLERS (whichNERVE AGENTSdrummer Andy Granelli would join and play with from 2000 to present day).
